Accounts & Administrative Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time)
\nLocation: Hybrid Working
\nSalary: £26,000–£30,000 per annum (pro rata if part-time), depending on experience
\nAre you an organised and proactive Accounts & Administrative Assistant looking for a varied role within a friendly and growing business?
\nWe’re looking for someone to support our Finance Manager across a range of finance, HR and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly.
\nThe Role
\nWorking closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for a broad range of duties including:
\nFinance Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Raising customer invoices and issuing customer statements. \n
- Managing the purchase ledger, including filing and posting invoices and receipts. \n
- Reconciling supplier accounts. \n
- Completing daily bank reconciliations. \n
- Assisting with cashflow forecasting. \n
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts. \n
- Assisting with VAT returns. \n
- Supporting payroll. \n
- Carrying out general bookkeeping tasks. \n
HR Administration
\n- \n
- Maintaining employee records and HR systems. \n
- Preparing employment contracts and other HR documentation. \n
- Keeping company policies and the employee handbook up to date. \n
General Administration
\n- \n
- Supporting the planning and organisation of client and staff events. \n
- Ordering office supplies and equipment. \n
- Maintaining office records. \n
- Providing general administrative support across the business. \n
About You
\nWe’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working with both numbers and people.
\nYou’ll ideally have:
\n- \n
- At least one year’s experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role. \n
- Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. \n
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. \n
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. \n
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach. \n
- Availability to work on Fridays is essential. For part-time applicants, the remaining working days can be agreed with the successful candidate. \n
A degree is not required—practical experience and the right attitude are far more important.
