\nWhen a property starts to move, crack or sink, it can turn someone’s world upside down. As a Subsidence Claims Specialist, you become the calm in that storm—the expert who brings clarity, reassurance and direction when customers need it most.
\nThis role sits at the centre of our technical claims operation. You’ll manage your own portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, using your engineering insight, analytical mindset, and problem-solving instincts to guide each case from first report to resolution. Every claim is a puzzle, and you’re the one who pieces it together.
\nWorking from home, you’ll blend technical authority with empathy and communication. You’ll translate complex structural issues into clear, confident explanations that help policyholders feel informed and supported. You’ll collaborate with engineers, surveyors, loss adjusters and contractors—always steering the process toward fair, timely and high-quality outcomes.
\n Key ResponsibilitiesWhat makes this role excitingYou’re the trusted expert customers rely on during a stressful and uncertain timeYou get to investigate real structural issues and apply your judgement to shape the right solutionYou own your cases end-to-end, giving you autonomy and variety every dayYou work with a wide network of specialists, learning from different disciplinesYou make a tangible difference—protecting homes, livelihoods and peace of mindWhat you’ll be doingTaking full responsibility for a portfolio of subsidence claims, from first notification to settlementDiagnosing the cause of damage using engineering knowledge and evidence-based assessmentCoordinating investigations, monitoring, repairs and mitigation strategiesCommunicating clearly and compassionately with customers, ensuring they feel supported throughoutMaking fair, balanced decisions that align with policy cover and technical best practiceDriving progress proactively to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes\n Skills, Knowledge and Expertise\nA recognised professional building qualification (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStructE, MCABE) or active progression toward one. Relevant experience will also be considered.Strong technical knowledge of structural defects and subsidence-related issues.The ability to diagnose building damage remotely using supplied evidence.Experience within the insurance industry and a solid understanding of liability considerations.Confident negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain agreement from multiple stakeholders.A problem-solving mindset, able to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively.High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.A flexible, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
