\nA well-established and expanding accountancy practice in Stockport is looking to recruit an experienced Client Manager to join its growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys managing their own client portfolio while contributing to team development and supporting senior leadership.
\nThe role
\nAs a Client Manager, you will take responsibility for a diverse portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact and delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services. Working closely with Senior Managers and Directors, you will be involved in technical work, client advisory matters and mentoring junior colleagues.
\nKey responsibilities

- Review statutory accounts for companies and accounts for sole traders \n
- Review corporation tax computations and returns \n
- Prepare technical and client-facing advice with guidance from Senior Managers and Directors \n
- Oversee personal tax compliance, including annual tax returns \n
- Ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with relevant standards \n
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients as their main point of contact \n
- Liaise with clients on deadlines, information requirements and queries \n
- Support Senior Managers and Directors across Accounts, Tax, VAT, Payroll and Company Secretarial work \n
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information in a timely manner \n
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships \n
- Provide ad hoc financial support, including analysis and interpretation of results \n
- Assist clients with internal systems and controls, including accounting software implementation \n
- Clearly explain tax and financial matters to advise and reassure clients \n
- Support, mentor and develop senior associates and supervisors \n
About you
\n- \n
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) \n
- At least 2 years' post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice \n
- Demonstrable experience managing your own client portfolio \n
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax, with a commitment to ongoing professional development \n
- Confident user of Outlook, Word and Excel \n
- Strong experience with Xero \n
- Experience with Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks and Sage 50 is advantageous \n
- Technologically confident and open to adopting new systems \n
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to apply skills to new situations \n
- Excellent communication and people management skills \n
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail \n
- Strong analytical and research abilities \n
