\nA rapidly growing, highly respected engineering organisation within the commercial & industrial heating / HVAC hire sector is seeking a Specialist Engineer to join their Midlands operation. This is a hands-on, varied and fast-paced role supporting critical customer sites with temporary boiler and heating solutions across the region.
\nThis is NOT a planned maintenance role — we are looking for an engineer who thrives in a reactive, fast-response hire environment, where no two days are the same.
\n\nThe Role
\nYou will be responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, fault-finding and breakdown response on commercial temporary heating and boiler systems, both depot-based and on customer sites across the Midlands.
\nSystems typically range from 600kW to 2MW (Gas & Oil) and include forced draft burner technology and associated control systems.
\nThe role will involve:

- Installation & commissioning of temporary boiler / heating equipment \n
- Service, maintenance & reactive breakdown response \n
- Working with forced draft burners & commercial boiler systems \n
- Fault finding on mechanical, combustion and control systems \n
- Working with BMS / control wiring \n
- Modifying plant room pipework and system integration \n
- Supporting complex installs (occasionally requiring 1–2 nights away) \n
- Working both on-site and depot-based when not attending jobs \n
This is a field-focused role with variety, autonomy and responsibility.
\n\nWhat We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- Strong experience with forced draft burners & commercial boiler systems \n
- Experience working on 600kW – 2MW gas / oil systems \n
- Background in commercial / industrial — NOT domestic \n
- Experience in a reactive / hire / breakdown environment (key requirement) \n
- BMS / controls / combustion understanding \n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability \n
- Flexible, hands-on and comfortable working in varying conditions \n
- Team-focused, proactive and safety-driven \n
You must understand the nature of this role — some days involve long hours, travel, weather exposure and complex installations.

- Commercial Gas Safe \n
- OFTEC / Oil (desirable) \n
- F-Gas (advantageous) \n
- Full UK Driving Licence \n
(DBS checks may be required for certain sites)

Salary & Package
\n£45,000 – £55,000, OTE £70,000 +++++(depending on experience & qualifications)
