\nPay: £15.06 per hour, 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri
\nLocation: Corby, NN17 4SW, Office based only.
\nKettering, NN16 8PP, Office based only.
\nLength: until 29 September 2026
\n\nOpus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for an experienced Housing Assistant to join their Housing Services department to provide support with a range of customer focused administrative tasks.
\nAs Housing Assistant your typical duties may include:
\n- \n
- Management of property tenancies and garage allocations lettings: \n
- \n
- Arranging signups and viewings with applicants \n
- Preparing and distributing documentation relating to garage licensees as well as the creation of new tenancies, voids tenancy changes, and mutual exchanges \n
- Updating the Housing IT system with any changes to tenancies and lettings as they occur \n
- Raising inspection requests and offers \n
- \n
- Management of accounts and rechargeable repairs: \n
- \n
- Letter production, rent credit, adjustment and refund documents \n
- Raising requisitions and processing invoices \n
- Taking payments for accounts \n
- \n
- Tenant Involvement and Engagement activities: \n
- \n
- Producing and organising the printing of materials, flyers and Agenda preparation \n
- Taking and typing up meeting notes/minutes in support of the Tenant Engagement Officers/Tenant Advisory Panel \n
- \n
- Effective and inclusive customer service: \n
- \n
- Providing with advice, information or answers to queries that may raise at the first point of contact \n
- Maintaining accurate electronic and paper house files, case notes, letters and forms by filing, scanning and system updating \n
- Monitoring and recording of all post and e-mail correspondence, directing to the appropriate officer \n
We are looking for a clear communicator with a proactive, customer focused attitude, with experience of working in an office environment, ideally within Housing and carrying out a range of administrative tasks, effectively managing and prioritising own workload.
\nThe perfect candidate will:

- Be a quick learner with strong organisational skills \n
- Collaborate well with others and be flexible in their approach to meet the demands of the post and team, working flexibly where necessary \n
- Be able to deal with confidential and sensitive information \n
- Be proficient in Microsoft package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) \n
- Understand and be able to comply with the Council's policies and procedures \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Experience or knowledge of housing management practice and housing legislation \n
- Experience of working within a local authority housing department or registered social landlord or a similar role \n
- Hold or be studying for a relevant housing qualification (CIH Level 2 Diploma or equivalent), Membership of CIH. \n
