Financial Accountant (with Finance Business Partner slant)Location: Long Eaton (on-site)Type: PermanentSalary guide: circa to £50,000 (doe and quals)Hours: full-time Cherry Professional is working on a confidential requirement for a Financial Accountant where the successful hire will sit close to the operational teams and bring a Finance Business Partner mindset — not just “reporting and reconciliations”, but real commercial support and stakeholder influence.The opportunityThis role will suit a hands-on financial accountant (ideally part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA) who enjoys being visible to the business, improving understanding of performance, and driving better decision-making through strong numbers and insight.Key responsibilities (Finance BP-leaning)\n

• Month-end support including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet control
\n
• Produce and explain management information with clear narrative and variance commentary
\n
• Partner with budget holders to support budgeting, forecasting and spend control
\n
• Help build KPI reporting and improve the quality/consistency of performance information
\n
• Provide insight to support operational decision-making (costs, trends, risks, opportunities)
\n
• Support continuous improvement across reporting and finance processes
\n

What we’re looking for\n

\n
• Part-qualified or newly qualified in ACCA/CIMA/ACA
\n
• Strong month-end fundamentals (accruals / prepayments / reconciliations)
\n
• Comfortable engaging stakeholders and challenging constructively
\n
• Analytical mindset (able to spot themes, not just produce numbers)
\n
• Confident with Excel and working in a fast-moving environment
\n
• Driven, ambitious, desire to influence change, decision making and process development
\n
