The role

The Underwriter will be a dynamic and experienced individual who will bring good knowledge of the Energy market and experience of Energy business development, structuring and underwriting. Previous experience within either renewable or non-renewable sector required. Key responsibilities will include:

Key accountabilities

  • Originate, structure, underwrite and price structured and non-standard insurance deals.
  • \n
  • Liaise with brokers and clients to understand objectives and design appropriate solutions.
  • \n
  • Evaluate submissions, conduct exposure and financial analysis, and prepare underwriting recommendations.
  • \n
  • Contribute to developing product appetite, pricing frameworks and underwriting guidelines.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with other team members on model development, deal pricing and sensitivity testing.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and portfolio monitoring data.
  • \n
  • Contribute to internal and carrier reporting, peer reviews, and audit readiness.

Skills & experience

  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and quote deals.
  • \n
  • Strong broker relationships and understanding of the markets.
  • \n
  • Numerate, analytical, and detail-oriented with commercial acumen.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • \n
  • Professional qualifications (ACII or equivalent) desirable.
