Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturing business to recruit a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Nottingham.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, apprentice-trained engineer or junior mechanical engineer looking to build a varied career across design, production engineering and toolmaking. You'll join a close-knit engineering team where no two days are the same, gaining exposure from initial product development through to production support and continuous improvement.

\n

The Opportunity\n

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you'll split your time between the engineering office, production floor and machine shop, supporting the introduction of new products and improving manufacturing processes.

You'll be involved in:

\n
    \n
  • Designing jigs, fixtures and production tooling using SolidWorks
  • \n
  • Supporting new product introduction from concept through to production
  • \n
  • Producing manufacturing documentation, work instructions and process information
  • \n
  • Working alongside production teams to trial and introduce new equipment
  • \n
  • Assisting with continuous improvement projects across manufacturing
  • \n
  • Supporting engineering data and production information
  • \n
  • Learning toolmaking techniques within the machine shop
  • \n
  • Manufacturing tooling using engineering drawings and CAD models
  • \n
  • Providing day-to-day engineering support across production
  • \n

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

    \n
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Strong CAD skills, ideally using SolidWorks
  • \n
  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm to learn
  • \n
  • Confidence working both independently and within a team
  • \n
Desirable\n
    \n
  • Experience using manual machine tools such as mills or lathes
  • \n
  • CNC or machining knowledge
  • \n
  • Experience creating jigs, fixtures or production tooling
  • \n
