Freight Forwarder

A well-established, family-owned freight forwarding company based in Eastleigh, Southampton, is looking for a dynamic and quick-thinking individual to join their friendly team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing freight forwarding operations with a strong focus on customs clearance, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete import customs entries accurately and efficiently.
\n
• Handle customs clearance documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
\n
• Coordinate import and export shipments.
\n
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, and customs authorities.
\n
• Manage FCL and LCL shipments where applicable.
\n
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
\n

What We're Looking For

Essential

\n
• Extensive customs clearance experience within a freight forwarding environment.
\n
• Proven experience completing import customs entries.
\n
• Experience using customs software (ASM experience is preferred, although experience with other customs systems is welcome).
\n
• Good working knowledge of CNS Destin8.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
\n

Desirable

\n
• Sea import freight forwarding experience.
\n
• Export customs clearance experience.
\n
• Knowledge of T1 Transit procedures.
\n
• Experience handling both FCL and LCL shipments.
\n
