About the Role
\nCoverMy Ltd is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of the finance function.
\n\nThis is a varied, hands-on role with a strong emphasis on insurer reconciliations, payment processing and financial administration. The successful candidate will also provide finance support to related businesses, helping to ensure accurate financial records, efficient processes and excellent service across the wider organisation.
\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 12 months' finance experience who is looking to broaden their knowledge within a growing insurance business.
\n\nKey Responsibilities
\n•Reconcile insurer and broker statements, investigating and resolving any differences.
\n•Assist with non-statutory trust account reconciliations, commission transfers and Bordereaux (BDX) reconciliations.
\n•Prepare supplier payment runs in accordance with company procedures.
\n•Post and reconcile daily bank transactions and company credit card expenditure.
\n•Process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring transactions are coded accurately to the correct nominal ledger accounts.
\n•Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and resolve supplier queries.
\n•Support credit control activities, including maintaining accurate customer account records and assisting with debt collection where required.
\n•Assist with month-end procedures.
\n•Provide finance support to related businesses, including general finance administration, reconciliations and intercompany activities.
\n•Monitor the finance inbox, ensuring queries are dealt with promptly or escalated where appropriate.
\n•Manage workload effectively through good diary management, prioritisation and organisation to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
\n•Build positive working relationships with colleagues, insurers, brokers and suppliers to support the smooth running of the finance function.
\n\nWhat We're Looking For
\nEssential
\n•Minimum 12 months' experience within a finance or accounts role.
\n•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
\n•Good Microsoft Excel skills.
\n•Experience of reconciliations or transactional finance.
\n•Excellent organisational and communication skills.
\nDesirable
\n•Sage 50 experience.
\n•Studying AAT or looking to commence professional studies.
