Assistant Accountant

Salary: Up to £165 per day Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Hybrid/Flexible Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing FMCG business on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is immediately available and looking to gain experience within a fast-paced, dynamic commercial environment.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support the month-end process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day finance operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an FMCG or high-volume environment and be confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Assist with month-end and year-end finance processes
\n
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Support management reporting and financial analysis
\n
• Maintain accruals and prepayments
\n
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
\n
• Analyse financial data and investigate variances
\n
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required
\n
• Help improve finance processes and controls
\n

\n
• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar finance role
\n
• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or another fast-paced environment preferred
\n
• Immediately available or available at short notice
\n
• Strong Excel skills
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
\n
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
\n
• AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or qualified by experience
\n
