We are working exclusively with a leading international bank to appoint a Deputy Head of Credit Risk to support and succeed the Head of Credit within its UK business. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, high-impact team with a clear succession path in a growing property and mortgage lending franchise.

As Deputy Head of Credit Risk, you will play a central role in safeguarding and shaping the bank's UK mortgage and property lending activities. Key aspects of the role include:

  Deal assessment and underwriting

  \n
  \n
  • \n

    Reviewing new mortgage and property credit applications originated by the business.

  \n
  • \n

    Providing independent risk assessment and recommendations, including structuring, security, covenants and mitigants.

  \n

• \n

  Portfolio oversight and risk monitoring

  \n
  \n
  • \n

    Monitoring the health of the mortgage and property portfolio, including early warning indicators and covenant compliance.

  \n
  • \n

    Supporting ongoing refinement of credit policies, risk appetite and lending standards in response to market and regulatory developments.

  \n

  Leadership, deputising and succession

  \n
  \n
  • \n

    Deputising for the Head of Credit, providing cover in committees and decision forums as required.

  \n
\n

• \n

  Bring direct experience of mortgage and/or property credit within a bank or specialist lender.

\n
• \n

  Are comfortable operating in a small, hands-on team, with visible responsibility and frequent interaction with senior management.

\n
• \n

  Enjoy acting as a constructive challenger to the business, maintaining strong relationships while upholding robust credit standards.

\n
• \n

  Are seeking a stable, long-term role with a genuine opportunity to step into a more senior credit leadership position in due course.
