Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Keighley 35-50k

This is an office-based position, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year (may go higher for the right candidate). Company pension, 23 days holiday.

We are looking for a senior accountant to join our team in an office-based role. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounts preparation, ranging from sole traders to Partnerships and Limited Companies, with the opportunity for future progression/manager level for the right candidate.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records
\n
• Company and personal tax return preparation
\n
• Managing own portfolio (manager role)
\n
• Reviewing work of other employees
\n
• Liaising with clients on all accounting matters
\n
• Other ad-hoc projects as they arise
\n

Skills required

\n
• ACA or ACCA qualified. Will consider QBE but must have minimum of 3 years practice experience.
\n
• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience within a UK-based, qualified firm of accountants is desirable
\n
• Management accounts experience is desirable
\n
• Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for a range of businesses, including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies, Partnerships, and LLPs
\n
• Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard
\n
• Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
\n
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
\n
• Excellent attention to detail
\n
• A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage and Xero.
\n
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and word is essential
\n

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills within a smaller company receiving a varied range of work and gaining experience in all company matters. The right candidate will have the opportunity to move to a manager role within the firm if proven.
