Interim Accountant

Global Accounting Network are partnering with a Manufacturing business who are looking for an accountant to join their team for a 1 year day rate contract with a strong likelihood of being made permanent as the business goes through an exciting period of growth. To apply for this role you must have full UK working rights with availability to start a new role in 2 weeks or less.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close: including accruals, prepayments, TB review, P/L preparation and variance analysis.
\n
• Preparing management report slides with sales and opex results on a monthly basis.
\n
• Looking after Accounts Payable (supplier invoice processing), tracking deposits, Accounts Receivable (raising invoices to internal and external customers), and credit control.
\n
• Bank Payments in GBP, EUR, USD, bank reconciliations, and planning weekly payments in each currency.
\n
• Processing intercompany transactions and performing intercompany reconciliations across 4 entities within the group.
\n
• Submit financial statements to internal and external stakeholders (bank, lenders, and manufacturers).
\n
• Managing quarterly VAT returns.
\n
• Tracking internal and external loans (borrowing accounts).
\n
• Supporting with audit queries at YE and YE close.
\n
• Support with budget preparation and cashflow forecast.
\n

About You

\n
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a similar financial or management accounting position.
\n
• Experience preparing statutory accounts for at least 1 legal entity for YE.
\n
• Strong working knowledge of UK VAT regulations with hands on experience in preparing and submitting quarterly returns.
\n
• Experience dealing with multi-currency transactions.
\n
• Proficiency working with spreadsheets and excel.
\n
• Pursuing a qualification (AAT, ACCA, or CIMA) is a plus.
