Head of Midwifery - Band 8C

Are you an experienced Band 8C Head of Midwifery looking for your next leadership opportunity?

Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Midwifery to join a leading NHS Trust in Portsmouth on an initial 4-month contract, providing strategic and operational leadership to the maternity service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior midwifery leader with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, safe maternity services and leading service improvement within a complex NHS environment.

• Provide professional, strategic and operational leadership for maternity services.
\n
• Lead on the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality maternity care.
\n
• Support the implementation of national maternity initiatives and quality improvement programmes.
\n
• Work collaboratively with senior clinical and operational leaders across the Trust.
\n
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS England guidance and national maternity policies.
\n
• Lead workforce planning, governance, risk management and performance management across the service.
\n
• Drive service transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n

\n
• Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
\n
• Significant experience operating at Band 8C Head of Midwifery level (or equivalent).
\n
• Extensive NHS leadership experience within maternity services.
\n
• Demonstrable experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.
\n
• Strong knowledge of maternity governance, patient safety and quality standards.
\n
• Experience managing complex operational and strategic challenges.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
