Maintenance Engineer – Healthcare Operations
\nLocation: Chessington (with occasional UK travel) Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 (40 hours per week) On-call: 1 in 4 weeks (24/7 call-out)
\nThe Opportunity
\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist healthcare services organisation supporting critical operations that directly contribute to patient safety.
\nThis role plays a key part in ensuring plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards within a regulated, fast-paced operational environment.
\nWhat You’ll Be Doing
\n- \n
- Maintain and repair plant and machinery to ensure uninterrupted service delivery \n
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and weekly compliance testing \n
- Oversee contractors and external service engineers on-site \n
- Ensure all equipment is serviced ahead of validation cycles \n
- Coordinate and support annual and quarterly equipment validation \n
- Maintain all validation and calibration documentation \n
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality systems \n
- Manage spare parts and tools inventory levels \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational best practice \n
- Participate fully in the on-call rota, including emergency call-outs \n
- During on-call weeks, carry out weekend boiler checks at the Chessington site \n
On-Call & Overtime Package

- 1 in 4 weeks on-call (24/7 coverage required) \n
- £30 payment per call-out acceptance \n
- Time and a half for call-out work \n
- Time off in lieu provided \n
- Weekend boiler checks required during on-call rotation \n
What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- Apprentice-trained engineer (or equivalent) \n
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within facilities, manufacturing, or similar environments \n
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background \n
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments (desirable) \n
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points) \n
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach \n
Salary & Benefits

- Salary: £46,000 – £49,500 \n
- Bonus: 5% annual bonus \n
