Family Solicitor
Job Description
My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their busy and well-established Family Department based at their Bishop Auckland office.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nManage a varied caseload of family law matters, including:
\n• Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
\n• Children matters
\n• Domestic abuse cases
\n• Cohabitation disputes
\n• Adoption and other private family law matters
\n• Provide clear, practical, and empathetic legal advice to clients.
\n• Draft legal documents, correspondence, court applications, and agreements.
\n• Represent clients at court hearings, negotiations, and, where appropriate, mediation.
\n• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent client care.
\n• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals, including barristers, mediators, counsellors, and external agencies.
\n• Keep up to date with developments in family law and maintain continuing professional development.
\nAbout You
\n• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive status with a current practising certificate.
\n• At least 3 years' experience handling a family law caseload (preferred).
\n• Strong knowledge of family law and court procedures.
\n• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client care skills.
\n• The ability to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision.
\n• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
