About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated, and driven Degree Qualified Maths Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision in Blackburn.

This is an exciting, long-term opportunity ideal for a recent Maths graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a secondary education environment. You will play a crucial role in planning and delivering Maths interventions, working primarily with small groups and on a 1-to-1 basis with students working below the national average.

Key Responsibilities

• Intervention Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Maths sessions tailored for 1-to-1 and small group settings.
\n
• Student Engagement: Build positive rapport with disengaged learners, helping them rebuild confidence and find enjoyment in Maths.
\n
• SEN & Behavioural Support: Support pupils with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans, as well as those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
\n
• Curriculum Support: Collaborate with the wider teaching team to deliver impactful learning outcomes across the provision.
\n

Candidate Requirements

\n
• Education: Holds a recently completed degree in Mathematics (or a closely related subject).
\n
• Experience: Prior experience supporting, planning, and delivering Maths content to young people.
\n
• Attributes: Driven, engaging, empathetic, and resilient with a strong passion for inspiring students.
\n
• Skills: Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with additional learning needs or disengagement issues.
\n
