A new electronics manufacturing operation is being established in Berkshire, and we are looking for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join the team at an early and exciting stage.

\n

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting beneath the surface of a problem.

\n

Someone who does not simply want to record that a product has failed, but wants to understand why it failed, where the issue sits and what needs to happen next.

\n

You will be testing advanced RF electronics and communication systems designed for demanding environments where performance and reliability genuinely matter. The products are technically interesting, highly specialised and built to exacting standards.

The Opportunity\n
\n

You will take electronic assemblies and finished products through electrical, functional and RF testing, using your knowledge and judgement to identify faults, diagnose failures and confirm that products are ready for release.

\n

\n

The work will involve a broad mix of testing, fault-finding, investigation, repair support and collaboration with Engineering, Production and Quality.

\n

Some days may focus on testing completed units against defined specifications. Others may involve tracing a difficult fault, investigating an unexpected signal, supporting a prototype build or helping resolve an issue during New Product Introduction.

\n

This is not a role where you simply connect a unit, press a button and record the result.

\n

You will be expected to interpret schematics, understand measurements, question unusual results and use your technical experience to help move products forward.

What You Will Be Working With\n

Depending on the product and stage of manufacture, your work may involve:

\n

• Electrical, functional and in-circuit testing
\n
• RF and electronic assemblies
\n
• Multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, power supplies and signal generators
\n
• Diagnosing faults at component or circuit level
\n
• Investigating signal distortion, interference or compatibility issues
\n
• Supporting repair, rework and corrective action
\n
• Recording test results and documenting non-conformities
\n
• Prototype, pilot and New Product Introduction testing
\n
• Bespoke test fixtures or automated test equipment
\n

\n

\n As the UK manufacturing operation develops, your practical experience will also help shape test methods, identify recurring issues and improve the way products move through production.

What We Are Looking For\n

We are interested in people who enjoy electronics testing and fault-finding and who take real satisfaction from resolving technical problems.

You may currently be working as an:

• Electronics Test Technician

\n
• Electronics Repair Technician
\n
• Production Test Technician
\n
• Diagnostic Technician

• Manufacturing Test Technician
\n

\n

\n You are likely to have experience in electronics manufacturing, product testing, repair or another hands-on technical environment.

\n

You should be comfortable reading schematics and circuit diagrams, using electronic test equipment and investigating faults logically and methodically.

\n

Experience with RF or microwave products would be particularly valuable, as would the ability to fault-find down to component or circuit level.

\n

A technical qualification such as an NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, HND or equivalent would be useful, although strong practical experience is equally important.

\n

Experience within defence, aerospace, automotive, medical devices or another regulated manufacturing environment would also be beneficial.
