Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer
\n\nLuton 3–5+ Years Experience - Hybrid Working (1-2 Days in Office)
\n\nWe’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on heavy industrial equipment used in critical power generation applications for Nuclear, Oil & Gas industries. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail — producing accurate, manufacturing-ready drawings, not just 3D models as well as be highly involved in solving real world engineering problems.
\n\nWhat you’ll be doing
\n- \n
- Creating detailed 2D & 3D designs in SolidWorks \n
- Producing fully toleranced engineering drawings (GD&T) \n
- Supporting designs from concept through to manufacture \n
- Working closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and buildable \n
- Applying DFM / DFA principles across complex assemblies \n
- Contributing to design reviews and engineering documentation \n
What we’re looking for
\n- \n
- 3–5 years in a mechanical design engineering role \n
- Strong SolidWorks (or similar CAD) experience \n
- Confident producing high-quality, manufacturing drawings \n
- Solid understanding of GD&T and tolerancing principles \n
- Background in heavy engineering / manufacturing / industrial environments \n
- Exposure to rotating equipment is a bonus \n
This role is not FEA-heavy — the focus is on practical design, drawings, and engineering detail
\n\nWhy apply?
\n- \n
- Work on complex, real-world engineering products \n
- Highly visible role with impact across design & manufacturing \n
- Join a business with strong heritage in critical industrial equipment \n
- Opportunity to deepen expertise in precision engineering & GD&T \n
If you’re a detail-focused design engineer who enjoys seeing your work go from screen to shop floor, let’s talk.
