Management Accountant – Newtownabbey - £40 - £50k
\nMontgomery Transport Group - Established in 1970, MTG is one of Europe's leading suppliers of logistical services. The company is a privately owned business, part of the Ballyvesey Holdings Group that has grown significantly in recent years, now providing a diverse range of Logistics Services throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
\nWe are now recruiting for a Management Accountant to join our established team in Newtownabbey. After initial bedding in period this is a hybrid role.
\nKey Responsibilities & Duties:

- Ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with Company Policies and Procedures. \n
- \n
- Responsibility for reviewing the company profit & loss account and relevant sections of the Balance Sheet of two divisions to ensure they are completed accurately and on a timely basis, and to provide supplementary reporting, analysis and support to all budget holders and the management team. \n
- \n
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and Quarterly re-forecasts including monthly meetings with Group Financial Controller. \n
- \n
- Responsibility for obtaining, collating and verifying information on a monthly basis \n
- \n
- To ensure the provision of timely and valuable management and operational information across the business, maintaining and expanding a range of reports in order to assist budget holders in the effective management of their costs and revenue targets. \n
- \n
- Responsibility for accurate allocation of company costs against individual revenue streams. \n
- \n
- To implement improvements of Finance processes (including profit and loss reporting and month-end process, reporting and analysis, etc.) and systems in order to achieve an effective and efficient way of working. \n
- \n
- To play a key role in the annual statutory audits in order to ensure MTG are complaint in all responsibilities within this area. \n
- \n
- To be responsible for the management of the workflow against defined goals and objectives, using all available management information, ensuring that service standards, targets and quality are achieved and maintained. \n
- \n
- Record financial transactions for project, department, or company \n
- \n
- Prepare financial statements for internal and external use \n
- \n
- Reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing \n
- \n
- Analyse financial performance and forecast longer term strategies and objectives. \n
- \n
- Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost \n
- \n
- Maintain records and support auditing efforts \n
- \n
- Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions \n
- \n
- Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials \n
