SEND High Needs AccountantNorth London Local Authority (Hybrid – 2 days on-site)£575 per day (Umbrella)Full-time Interim Contract (3 Months Initially)We're working with a North London Local Authority to recruit an experienced SEND High Needs Accountant to lead financial management for the High Needs Block within the Education & Inclusion directorate.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced local government finance professional to play a key role in supporting SEND services, providing strategic financial advice, and driving sustainable financial planning across education.The role will involve:\n

• Leading financial management for the High Needs Block and Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG)
\n
• Budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting
\n
• Business partnering with senior leaders across Education, SEND, and Inclusion
\n
• Supporting service transformation through financial modelling and business case development
\n
• Producing statutory financial information and supporting year-end closedown
\n
• Identifying financial risks, efficiencies, and savings opportunities
\n
• Leading and developing a small finance team
\n

We're looking for candidates with:\n

\n
• CCAB, CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification (or equivalent experience)
\n
• Strong local authority finance experience
\n
• Experience supporting SEND, Schools, Education, or High Needs Block finance
\n
• Excellent financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills
\n
• Knowledge of DSG funding, statutory accounting, and local government finance
\n
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering experience
\n
