\nReporting into the Commercial Manager you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by delivering a Total Waste Management solution across Heathrow Airport by promoting effective waste segregation, providing training and engagement to on-site staff, and driving improvements in recycling performance.
\nThe role supports Heathrow's sustainability objectives by encouraging waste reduction, increasing recycling, and ensuring waste is managed in line with the waste hierarchy.
\nWhat will you do

- Support the Commercial Manager in delivering the Heathrow Airport contract, ensuring service performance meets agreed KPIs, SLAs, and customer expectations. \n
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Heathrow Airport stakeholders, including facilities management teams, cleaning contractors, retailers, and operational teams. \n
- Promote best practice in waste management by delivering training, presentations, waste awareness sessions, facility tours, and waste audits. \n
- Encourage correct waste segregation and recycling practices through regular engagement with site users, providing guidance and addressing non-compliance where required. \n
- Monitor waste and recycling operations across the site, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, increase recycling performance, and enhance service delivery. \n
- Carry out inspections of waste storage areas, compactors, and internal and external waste containers, ensuring services comply with legislation, contractual requirements, and operational standards. \n
- Produce accurate reports, performance data, and audit findings, highlighting trends, non-conformances, and recommendations for continuous improvement. \n
- Work closely with the Transport Manager, Contract Supervisors, and operational teams to maintain service standards, resolve day-to-day issues, and identify opportunities for service development. \n
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and operational issues, ensuring they are managed professionally and effectively. \n
- Assist with waste composition analysis and other hands-on operational activities to support service improvements. \n
- Maintain a good understanding of waste legislation, industry best practice, and Grundon's services to \n
- Drive airside vehicles when required (full training provided). \n
- Support operational requirements by moving waste and recycling materials and carrying out minor repairs to waste containers, including replacing wheels, lids, and signage where necessary. \n

About You
\n- \n
- At least 2 years' experience in the waste, recycling, sustainability, or a related sector is desirable. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with experience using databases and business systems. \n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Confident communicator and presenter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Customer-focused, approachable, and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. \n
- Able to work effectively both as part of a collaborative team and independently, using initiative to achieve objectives. \n
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airside security pass to work at Heathrow Airport (subject to successful security clearance). \n
- Full UK driving license \n
