\nLocation: Felixstowe (Hybrid - 3 days office, 2 days home)Contract: Temporary, 3 monthsHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00-16:30 or 09:00-17:30)Pay: Up to £16.41 per hour, depending on experienceReporting to: Finance Manager
\nThe Role
\nWe are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a 3-month temporary basis. Responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll across two entities, you will ensure payroll is delivered accurately, on time, and in line with current legislation.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for two entities. \n
- Process starters, leavers and payroll changes. \n
- Support BACS payments and payroll approvals. \n
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and HMRC requirements. \n
- Respond to payroll and pension queries from employees. \n
- Complete payroll reconciliations and support audit requirements. \n
- Process annual pension updates, NHS Pension year-end activities and P11Ds. \n
- Verify mileage claims and maintain fleet records. \n
- Assist with payroll journals and month-end reporting. \n
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements. \n
About You
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Previous Payroll Officer experience. \n
- End-to-end payroll processing experience. \n
- Knowledge of auto-enrolment pensions, SSP, SMP, RTI and payroll legislation. \n
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. \n
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload. \n
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience with IRIS, MoorePay, Sage Payroll or HMRC Basic PAYE Tools. \n
- Previous NHS Pension experience. \n
- Experience improving payroll processes and procedures. \n
