School Chef Manager – Primary School (Bushey, WD23 1SR)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at a small, friendly primary school in the Bushey area. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to approximately 150 pupils per day, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming dining experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and values work-life balance, with term-time hours only.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, balanced meals in line with school food standards
\n
• Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including food ordering, stock control, and budgeting
\n
• Lead and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily service
\n
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness
\n
• Monitor portion control and reduce food waste
\n
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and stakeholders
\n
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
\n

About You

\n
• Proven experience as a Chef or Chef Manager (ideally in a school or similar setting)
\n
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety preferred)
\n
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
\n
• Passion for preparing healthy, appetising meals for children
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage a small team
\n
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
\n
