Street Cleaner DriverLocation: Edinburgh EastPay Rate: £14.51 per hour Hours of Work: 4 days on 4 days off minute break) OR Monday to Friday 07:00 – 14:57 (45-minute break)Contract: Temporary ongoingStart Date: Immediate starts availableThe RoleYou will support the cleansing and upkeep of Edinburgh’s streets and public areas whilst also operating a cage vehicle to assist with waste collection and disposal.This is a dual-role position combining driving responsibilities with hands-on street cleansing duties.Duties include (but are not limited to):\n

• Driving a cage vehicle safely and responsibly across designated routes
\n
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects in line with health & safety procedures
\n
• Transporting collected waste to disposal sites
\n
• Cleaning and servicing city streets and public spaces
\n
• Sweeping, brushing, and removing leaves and debris
\n
• Removing weeds from pavements and public areas using manual tools
\n
• Emptying public litter and waste bins
\n
• Safe collection, handling, and disposal of waste materials
\n
• Handling physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and repetitive movements
\n
• Walking long distances throughout shifts
\n
• Occasional interaction with members of the public
\n
• Dealing with unpleasant waste, including bodily fluids where required
\n

Successful Candidates Will:\n

\n
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (essential)
\n
• Will receive full induction, training, and PPE
\n
• Be confident driving a cage vehicle in urban environments
\n
• Be honest, reliable, and punctual
\n
• Have a strong work ethic and willingness to carry out manual work
\n
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
\n
• Be health and safety conscious
\n
• Maintain professionalism while working in public environments
\n
