\nReed HR are delighted to be supporting a prestigious and well-established Oxford-based organisation in their search for an experienced HR Manager to join them in a newly created standalone role.
\nThis is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished HR professional to review, develop and lead the HR function, supporting a diverse workforce within a complex and highly regarded environment. The role offers a rare opportunity to shape HR strategy while remaining closely involved in operational delivery, making a tangible impact across the organisation.
\nReporting to a senior leader, you will act as the organisation's HR expert, providing both strategic and hands-on support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
\nThe Role
\nKey responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Advising senior stakeholders and departmental leaders on a broad range of HR and employment matters. \n
- Reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice. \n
- Supporting organisational development initiatives, staff wellbeing programmes and training activities. \n
- Providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and organisational change. \n
- Championing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. \n
- Supporting managers with recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement activities. \n
- Managing HR systems and ensuring accurate HR records and GDPR compliance. \n
- Producing key HR reports, including equality and workforce data. \n
- Delivering HR training and coordinating external training providers where required. \n
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. \n
About You
\nWe are keen to hear from HR professionals who possess:
\n- \n
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or above, or equivalent professional experience. \n
- Significant generalist HR experience, ideally gained within higher education, a not-for-profit environment or another complex organisation. \n
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. \n
- Experience of developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. \n
- Excellent employee relations expertise and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders. \n
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to successfully manage a standalone HR function. \n
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records. \n
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. \n
- High levels of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail. \n
