Reed Accountancy are currently working with a growing organisation who are seeking a temporary Accounts Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the finance function by managing day-to-day activities across purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cash management in addition to efficient operations and month-end reporting.

\n

With the view for this to last an initial 3-months, this position would suit a candidate who is immediately available or holding a short notice.

\n

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

\n

Purchase Ledger:

\n
    \n
  • Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • \n
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • \n
  • Maintaining supplier accounts and ensuring statements are reconciled
  • \n
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
  • \n
  • Responding to queries and maintaining relationships
  • \n
\n

Sales Ledger:

\n
    \n
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes
  • \n
  • Ensuring customer accounts are maintained accurately and kept up to date
  • \n
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and supporting credit control
  • \n
  • Allocating customer receipts and resolving misallocations
  • \n
\n

Cash & Bank:

\n
    \n
  • Performing daily cash and bank reconciliations
  • \n
  • Monitoring cash movements and posting relevant journals
  • \n
  • Assisting with petty cash and expense claims
  • \n
\n

General Finance:

\n
    \n
  • Assisting with month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and ledger reconciliations
  • \n
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate and organised financial records
  • \n
  • Contributing to process improvements across the finance function
  • \n
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    \n
  • Experience in an accounting role
  • \n
  • Proficiency in financial accounting software
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • \n
  • Great attention to detail
  • \n
\n
