\nHourly Pay: £13.72 to £15.26 (Days) £15.09 to £15.26 (Nights)
\nContract Type: Permanent – Full and Part Time (Nights) available
\nWorking Pattern: Days + Weekends, Nights
\n\nDays: 3-5 days per week working alternate weekends (36 hours)
\nNights: 2 nights per week (24 hours)
\n\nFriends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.
\n\nRedcot, specialising in residential care, is set in the delightful town of Haslemere, Surrey. Overlooking beautiful gardens and surrounded by countryside, much of which is owned by the National Trust, Redcot is blessed with a unique, tranquil setting.
\n\nWe are looking for caring and compassionate Care Assistants to join our dedicated team to support our residents to live happy, fulfilling, and independent lives through high quality, person centred care.
\nPlease note: These roles are normally open to applicants of all genders. However, as the role involves providing personal care to predominantly older women, and in line with residents’ preferences, we are currently seeking female applicants as a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Provide personal care and support in line with individual care plans. \n
- Assist residents with washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Support residents with eating and drinking where required. \n
- Carry out regular welfare and safety checks throughout the night. (Nights role) \n
- Respond promptly to call bells and residents' requests for assistance. (Nights role) \n
- Support residents who may be anxious, unsettled, or require reassurance during the night. (Nights role) \n
- Promote dignity, choice, independence, and wellbeing at all times. \n
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues. \n
- Encourage residents to participate in activities and maintain their hobbies and interests. \n
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional wellbeing. \n
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation. \n
- Follow safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, and company policies. \n
About You
\n\nWe are looking for kind, patient, and compassionate individuals with a genuine desire to support older people. A good communicator, you’ll have a positive and professional attitude and be committed to providing person centred care that promotes dignity, choice, and independence.
\nPrevious care experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
\n\nEnhanced Role Opportunity – Medication Technician (desired for this role)
\nFor those wishing to develop their skills, there is the opportunity to undertake an enhanced Medication Technician role, with additional pay following successful completion of training and competency assessments.
