\n\nJOB OVERVIEW
\nWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Procurement Director to lead strategic procurement, commercial assurance and supplier performance across a complex organisation.
\nAs a Procurement Director you will shape procurement strategy, drive value for money, improve governance and influence Executive and senior leaders on commercial decision-making.
\nThe Procurement Director will lead transformation, develop procurement capability and ensure compliant, data-led sourcing, contract management, social value and ESG outcomes.
\n\nDUTIES
\nYour duties as the Procurement Director include:
\n- \n
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and deliver the organisation-wide procurement strategy, aligned with corporate objectives, financial plans and business priorities \n
- Commercial Leadership: Oversee strategic sourcing, category management, cost optimisation, supplier performance and contract management across a diverse spend portfolio \n
- Transformation Delivery: Lead procurement transformation, embedding best practice, robust governance, systems improvement and continuous improvement \n
- Executive Advice: Provide strategic commercial advice to Executive and senior leaders, reporting on procurement performance, risk, opportunity and outcomes \n
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and embed SRM frameworks, performance measures, supplier partnerships and contract lifecycle controls \n
- Complex Procurement: Lead high-value procurement exercises and negotiate major contracts, frameworks and commercial arrangements \n
- Compliance and Assurance: Ensure procurement activity complies with the Procurement Act 2023, public procurement requirements, audit standards and internal governance \n
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop procurement colleagues and build commercial capability across the organisation \n
- Social Value and ESG: Ensure procurement supports social value, sustainability goals, ethical sourcing and positive community impact \n
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
\nESSENTIAL
\n- \n
- Degree educated, or equivalent experience \n
- CIPS qualified / MCIPS \n
- Extensive senior procurement leadership experience at Head of or Director level \n
- Proven experience delivering procurement transformation within complex organisations \n
- Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023 \n
- Experience managing high-value, complex procurement and contract portfolios \n
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver savings while maintaining quality and value \n
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills at Executive and Board level \n
- Strong analytical, project management and leadership skills \n
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing procurement teams \n
DESIRABLE

- Experience within housing, local government, the NHS or another regulated environment \n
