Group Compliance Manager - Europe

Location: London (Office-Based)Salary: Competitive + Benefits

The Opportunity

\n

An international organisation with operations across multiple European jurisdictions is seeking a Group Compliance Manager to join its established Legal & Compliance function.

\n

This is a broad and commercially focused role offering exposure to a wide range of regulatory and governance matters, including anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, data privacy, competition law, third-party risk management and compliance support on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

\n

Working closely with senior leadership, legal teams and operational stakeholders across Europe, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a robust compliance framework within a complex multinational environment.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Manage and support legal compliance due diligence activities relating to acquisitions, joint ventures and third-party relationships.
  • \n
  • Conduct compliance and regulatory risk assessments across European operations, identifying gaps and recommending appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
  • \n
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the organisation's data privacy programme, including GDPR compliance, DPIAs, ROPA management and information governance processes.
  • \n
  • Draft, review and update compliance policies, procedures and governance documentation in line with changing regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on matters including:\n
      \n
    • UK Bribery Act and anti-corruption legislation
    • \n
    • GDPR and wider data protection obligations
    • \n
    • Competition and antitrust law
    • \n
    • Economic sanctions and trade compliance
    • \n
    • Third-party due diligence and risk management
    • \n
  • \n
  • Assist with the design and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives across Europe.
  • \n
  • Produce compliance reporting and management information for leadership teams.
  • \n
  • Develop practical compliance resources, guidance notes and educational materials.
  • \n
  • Partner with legal, risk and compliance colleagues globally to ensure consistency of programmes and controls across jurisdictions.

To be successful, you will bring:

    \n
  • At least 5 years' experience within Compliance, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Affairs or Corporate Governance.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, anti-bribery and corruption regulations, competition law, sanctions and third-party compliance frameworks.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting multinational or cross-border operations.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • \n
  • Strong policy drafting, governance and regulatory interpretation capabilities.
  • \n
  • A degree in Law, Business, Governance or a related discipline.
  • \n
  • Additional European language skills would be advantageous.
  • \n
