Housing Support Worker

- Hours: Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends \n
Day-to-day of the role:
\n- \n
- Provide person-centred support to individuals within supported housing services. \n
- Assist service users in accessing essential services such as benefits, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. \n
- Complete and update computer records \n
- Ensure visitor are signed in/out of the venue \n
- Help clients develop crucial independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and managing tenancy agreements. \n
- Conduct regular welfare checks and maintain detailed and accurate case records. \n
- Ensure the promotion of safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing at all times. \n
- Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and community organisations. \n
- Support tenants in sustaining their accommodation and reducing the risk of homelessness. \n
- Respond effectively to challenging situations and provide crisis intervention when necessary. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Experience in support, housing, care. \n
- Empathetic, caring, and professional approach to work. \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. \n
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills. \n
- Proficient IT skills and experience in maintaining accurate records. \n
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality principles. \n
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. \n
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
\n- \n
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Housing, or a related field. \n
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults. \n
- Knowledge of homelessness, tenancy sustainment, mental health, or substance misuse support services. \n
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential). \n
