Criminal Paralegal

A specialist criminal defence practice is seeking a Criminal Paralegal to join its North London office. This Criminal Paralegal role offers exposure to a broad range of criminal defence matters, including serious crime, Crown Court cases and complex investigations. The Criminal Paralegal will work closely with experienced solicitors and advocates, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the criminal process. This Criminal Paralegal opportunity is suited to someone looking to build a long-term career within criminal defence.

The successful Criminal Paralegal will join a respected criminal defence practice recognised for handling complex and high-profile cases. The team provides structured training, mentoring and a clear pathway towards Police Station Accreditation and future qualification.

As the Criminal Paralegal you will support solicitors across a varied criminal caseload.

The role will include:

* Assisting with Magistrates' Court and Crown Court matters* Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries* Reviewing evidence, disclosure and witness statements* Drafting legal correspondence, applications and attendance notes* Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, police stations and prisons* Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings* Supporting trial preparation and case strategy

You will have previous criminal law experience and be committed to developing your career within criminal defence.

The Criminal Paralegal must have:

* LPC or SQE qualification* At least two years' criminal law experience* Strong legal research and analytical skills* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Strong organisational and time management ability* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
