Buyer

A proven defence organisation, are seeking an experienced Buyer to work within an established procurement and supply chain function and support on key projects.

• Role: Buyer
\n
• Duration: 7-9 month contract
\n
• Pay: Up to £26 p/hr (Inside IR35)
\n
• Location: Yeovil (Fully onsite for first few weeks before moving to 1 day per week)
\n

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing purchase requisitions, raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, resolving order-related issues, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and services to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Process purchase requisitions accurately and efficiently
\n
• Create, issue and manage purchase orders through SAP
\n
• Monitor supplier acknowledgements and delivery commitments
\n
• Resolve ordering, invoicing and delivery-related issues
\n
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams
\n
• Escalate commercial or contractual matters to the appropriate procurement specialists
\n
• Support supplier performance and on-time delivery activities
\n
• Maintain accurate procurement records and system data
\n
• Assist with spot-buy activities, RFQs and supplier communications where required
\n

Key Requirements:

• Experience in aerospace, defence, engineering or manufacturing environments
\n
• Strong working knowledge of SAP
\n
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Previous experience in a direct buying or purchasing role
\n
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
\n
• High attention to detail and accuracy
\n
• Exposure to Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
\n
• Experience dealing with suppliers and purchase order management
\n
