About the role

We’re working with a well-established, large-scale business looking to bring an Assistant Accountant into their central finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity if you’re looking to build on your experience, get stuck into varied finance work, and continue your professional studies with support.

You’ll report into a Financial Accountant and get involved across a mix of core accounting tasks, giving you solid exposure to a busy finance function.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting multi-currency bank reconciliations and cashflow forecasting
\n
• Helping to manage and report on foreign exchange activity
\n
• Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
\n
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Tracking central costs, capital spend, and project costs
\n
• Working with budget holders to review costs and provide insight
\n
• Assisting with VAT return calculations
\n
• Liaising with external auditors during audit periods
\n
• Supporting the wider finance team where needed
\n

What we’re looking for

\n
• Part-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or recently qualified
\n
• Experience working in a finance or accounts role
\n
• Comfortable using Excel (pivot tables, lookups etc. ideal)
\n
• Strong attention to detail and good numeracy
\n
• Confident communicator who can work with different teams
\n
• Able to manage workload and meet deadlines
\n
• Proactive mindset with a problem-solving approach
\n
