General Practice Accountant

General Practice Accountant Bury St Edmunds £35,000 - £50,000

Due to continued growth, a well-established and friendly independent accountancy practice are looking to recruit an experienced General Practice Accountant who enjoys variety and wants to be involved across all areas of practice work rather than specialising in a single discipline.

Role Responsibilities

\n
• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies.
\n
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
\n
• Preparing sole trader and partnership accounts.
\n
• Completing personal tax and Capital Gains Tax returns.
\n
• Producing management accounts.
\n
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
\n
• Bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio.
\n
• Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax requirements.
\n
• Liaising directly with clients to provide advice and resolve day-to-day queries.
\n
• Assisting with ad hoc assignments as required.
\n

Personal Requirements

\n
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
\n
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
\n
• Good understanding of bookkeeping and VAT.
\n
• Comfortable managing a varied workload across different client types.
\n
• Knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
\n
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, qualified by experience or fully qualified will all be considered.
\n
• Strong communication skills with a proactive and organised approach.
\n
