We are working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected independent accountancy and business advisory firm that is looking to recruit a Private Client Tax Senior to join its growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys managing a varied portfolio of private clients while working within a collaborative and supportive environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their technical expertise, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's private client offering.

The Role\n

As a Private Client Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients, ensuring compliance obligations are met while identifying opportunities to provide proactive tax planning advice.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, directors, landlords and sole traders.
  • \n
  • Preparing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns.
  • \n
  • Managing Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax compliance matters.
  • \n
  • Assisting clients with tax planning opportunities and providing practical advice.
  • \n
  • Liaising directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • \n
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • \n
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • \n
  • Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation.
  • \n
  • Working closely with Partners and Managers on advisory projects.
  • \n
About You\n

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice in a personal tax role.
  • \n
  • ATT qualified, CTA part-qualified or CTA qualified (preferred but not essential).
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation.
  • \n
  • Experience managing a portfolio of private clients.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • \n
  • Experience using tax software such as CCH, Iris, Digita or similar would be advantageous.
  • \n
