The Role

\n

The Lead Accountant, Europe will provide comprehensive support to the Director of Finance (Europe & Asia), contributing across tax, compliance, and management accounting activities for multiple international offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • \n
  • Analyse financial data to assess tax implications and identify opportunities
  • \n
  • Prepare VAT calculations and supporting documentation across European offices
  • \n
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and validate tax-related information
  • \n
  • Support tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities
  • \n
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impact
  • \n
  • Assist with tax projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation
  • \n
  • Work closely with international colleagues to prepare tax return materials for multiple jurisdictions
  • \n
  • Support Pillar 2 reporting requirements
  • \n
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects (e.g. new office openings)
  • \n
  • Provide management reporting and financial analysis as required
  • \n

Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • \n
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel and systems capability
  • \n
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • \n
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and develop
  • \n
  • Professional accountancy qualification preferred
  • \n
