\nAbout the Role
\nWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established automotive organisation seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist to join its growing Aftersales function.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled automotive professional to play a key role in supporting a nationwide retailer network, resolving complex vehicle concerns, and contributing to continuous product improvement.
\nThe successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, working closely with retailers, technical teams, quality functions, and customer support departments to ensure technical issues are investigated thoroughly and resolved efficiently.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Take ownership of technical cases from initial investigation through to resolution. \n
- Provide technical support to a network of retailers and repairers across the UK. \n
- Conduct on-site technical investigations and produce detailed reports. \n
- Manage multiple technical concerns simultaneously and prioritise accordingly. \n
- Escalate complex issues to specialist engineering teams when required. \n
- Support product quality investigations by providing technical feedback and analysis. \n
- Assist customer support teams with the technical assessment of customer concerns. \n
- Review and evaluate technical information and documentation. \n
- Develop and deliver technical training sessions, presentations, and workshops. \n
- Create and maintain technical communications, diagnostic procedures, and support materials. \n
- Provide technical guidance to warranty and aftersales teams. \n
- Support the development and continuous improvement of technical support processes. \n
About You
\nEssential Requirements
\n- \n
- A formal technical or engineering-based qualification, Master Technician status or suitable experience may be considered in lieu. \n
- Minimum 5 years' experience within an automotive technical support, diagnostic, engineering, or Master Technician environment. \n
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities across modern vehicle systems. \n
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical analysis tools. \n
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. \n
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving. \n
- Strong Microsoft Office skills. \n
- Full UK driving licence. \n
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home as and when the role requires. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Hybrid and Electric Vehicle qualifications or relevant experience. \n
- Experience supporting retailer, dealer, or service networks. \n
- Previous experience within an automotive manufacturer, importer, or technical services environment. \n
- Experience delivering technical training and coaching. \n
