\nLocation: Chester (hybrid working available)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £24,000 – £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
\nThe role
\nWe’re supporting a growing Accountancy firm in Chester who are looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.
\nThis role is ideal for someone early in their accountancy career who wants exposure to both audit and accounts, hands-on client work, and a clear development path. You’ll work closely with seniors and managers across a varied client base, gaining strong technical and practical experience.
\nKey responsibilities

- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for a range of clients \n
- Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion \n
- Preparing working papers and audit documentation \n
- Assisting with basic tax computations and returns \n
- Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries \n
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines \n
- Working closely with seniors and managers to develop technical skills \n
What we’re looking for
\n- \n
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice (audit, accounts or mixed role) \n
- Studying towards ACA / ACCA (or looking to start) \n
- A good understanding of accounting principles \n
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn \n
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude \n
- Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks \n
