Job Title: Income Officer

Location: Warrington (Hybrid – 3 days from home, office-based Wednesday & Thursday)

\n

Rate: £24.00 – £25.50 per hour (Umbrella)

\n

Contract: Rolling contract (minimum 3 months)

\n

Hours: 37 hours per week

\n

Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence & access to a vehicle

The Role\n

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Income Officer on behalf of a housing organisation based in Warrington. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility, with 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with social housing experience who is confident managing rent arrears and undertaking pre-court actions.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Manage a caseload of rent accounts in arrears, ensuring effective recovery of income
  • \n
  • Carry out pre-court work including issuing Letter 1s and Letter 2s
  • \n
  • Draft legal notices in line with policies and procedures
  • \n
  • Maintain regular contact with tenants via phone and email to negotiate repayment plans
  • \n
  • Monitor and review accounts, taking appropriate action to reduce arrears
  • \n
  • Accurately update housing management systems and maintain detailed records
  • \n
  • Work proactively to prevent escalation of arrears cases
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Previous experience working as an Income Officer within social housing
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of rent arrears recovery processes and pre-court procedures
  • \n
  • Experience drafting notices and handling tenancy-related correspondence
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • \n
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
  • \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
  • \n
