Librarian (Learning Resource Service) - FLK14403

We are seeking a librarian who is committed to delivering a high quality service within a very busy Learning Resource Service (LRS).

The LRS is a dynamic, highly valued service which provides quality resources, information and advice to support all educational establishments in Falkirk Council. LRS is part of the Central Education Team and is committed to support and enhance the curriculum, enriching the learning experiences of all children and young people.

You will be part of a small team providing library support for all educational establishments in the Falkirk Council area and be responsible to the Senior Librarian.

You will have good organisational and communication skills and have a flexible and efficient approach to work. As well as demonstrating enthusiasm, initiative and commitment, you must be able to work well in a team and relate to people in a friendly manner.

You will hold a degree in Librarianship/Information Science or a post-graduate qualification in Librarianship/Information Science and be a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

Consideration may be given to applicants who are working towards their CILIP Charter.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
