About the Business

An opportunity to be a CommercialManagement Accountant for an international company based in Birmingham, who offer hybrid working. This role provides the opportunity to develop your skills and is perfect for a qualified accountant in a recognised accountancy qualification, while paying £50,000 -£55,000. You’ll work within a supportive team with low staff turnover – a great environment to settle into a group with brilliant culture. You’ll work closely with the Finance Business Partner, providing an opportunity to gain valuable experience – ideal if you have the desire to progress onto a similar position.

Main Duties:

As a Commercial Management Accountant, your main duties include:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
\n
• Take ownership of producing the monthly Management Information Pack for Board review and distribution.
\n
• Support the preparation of rolling monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process, including providing detailed analysis where required.
\n
• Communicate effectively with the line manager, highlighting any risks and opportunities identified.
\n
• Drive profitability and continuous improvement by reviewing, analysing, and challenging existing processes and practices.
\n
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring audit sign-off is achieved in line with Birmingham Airport deadlines.
\n
• Liaise with external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries.
\n
• Maintain and update financial models as required.
\n
• Provide support and relevant information for the annual audit process.
\n
• Partner with non-financial managers to support wider business financial understanding and decision-making.
\n
• Support Finance Business Partners with investment appraisals and business case analysis.
\n
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
\n
• Raise commercial and ad-hoc invoices as requested by Finance Business Partners.
\n
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the role as required.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified in ACCA/CIMA/ACA
\n
• Experience in a management accounting role, including month-end close and reporting.
\n
• Strong Excel skills, with experience or interest in Power Apps and data visualisation tools to support automation and insight.
\n
• Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
\n
• Proactive in driving process improvements and using technology to enhance efficiency.
\n
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Degree educated (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical discipline is a bonus but not essential.
