Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary / Conveyancing Assistant to join our client's team.

\n

You will be joining a friendly and supportive team within a growing firm, where collaboration, reliability and initiative are highly valued.

You will play an important role in ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care.

\n

Responsibilities include:

\n
    \n
  • Audio typing and preparation of legal documents using digital dictation
  • \n
  • Producing accurate, well-presented correspondence and documentation
  • \n
  • Supporting fee earners
  • \n
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties
  • \n
  • Managing diaries, scheduling appointments and general administrative support
  • \n
  • Opening and closing client files and maintaining accurate records and filing systems
  • \n
  • Handling post-completion work, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
  • \n
  • Preparing completion statements and assisting with completion processes
  • \n
  • Using case management systems effectively to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • \n
  • Providing support to other departments where required.
  • \n

Experience required:

\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a conveyancing or legal secretarial role
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process
  • \n
  • Experience handling post-completion matters, including Land Registry applications
  • \n
\n

  • Proactive, reliable and able to use initiative
  • \n
  • Fast and accurate audio typing (minimum 40 wpm)
  • \n
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • \n
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly when working under pressure
  • \n
  • Confident and professional communication skills
  • \n
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • \n
  • Client-focused with a positive and professional approach
  • \n
  • Adaptable and flexible in a busy office environment
  • \n
