Reading Up to £50,000 per annum + Annual Bonus

About the Role

Join a specialist healthcare service supporting the NHS by ensuring the safe sterilisation of surgical instruments. This is a site-based Maintenance Engineer role, working on plant machinery, sterilisers, and automated systems.

Key Duties

\n
• Maintain & repair autoclaves, sterilisers, washers & plant equipment
\n
• Fault finding on mechanical & electrical systems
\n
• Work with steam plants, boilers, conveyors & automation
\n
• Carry out PPM, validation support, and compliance checks
\n
• Support contractors & manage spare parts
\n
• Participate in continuous improvement & on-call rota (1 in 4)
\n

Requirements

\n
• Engineering apprenticeship / HNC / HND / City & Guilds
\n
• 2+ years in manufacturing, FMCG, or plant environments
\n
• Strong mechanical + electrical skills (ideally 50/50)
\n
• Experience with automation, hydraulics & pneumatics
\n
• PLC knowledge desirable
\n
• Full UK driving licence
\n

Package & Hours

\n
• Mon–Fri, 40 hours (flexible start 7:00–8:30)
\n
• £30 standby + overtime (1.5x)
\n
• 1 in 4 on-call
\n
• Full training provided
\n
