Book Keeper
Job Description
We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the smooth running of our busy events business. This is a varied role combining office management, bookkeeping, finance administration and general business support.
\nThe successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day office operations whilst maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the senior management team. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a small business environment where no two days are the same.
\nKey ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Finance

- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks. \n
- Process supplier invoices, expenses and credit card transactions. \n
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms. \n
- Raise sales invoices and monitor customer payments. \n
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. \n
- Assist with month-end reporting and financial analysis. \n
- Prepare information for external accountants and auditors. \n
- Process staff expenses and maintain financial records. \n
- Monitor cash flow and support budget tracking. \n
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements. \n
Office Management

- Oversee the day-to-day running of the office. \n
- Manage office supplies, equipment and facilities. \n
- Act as the main point of contact for office-related issues. \n
- Coordinate relationships with suppliers and service providers. \n
- Support health and safety administration. \n
- Maintain company records and filing systems. \n
- Organise meetings, travel and accommodation arrangements. \n
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed. \n
Administration & Business Support

- Provide administrative support to the leadership team. \n
- Assist with HR administration, onboarding and personnel records. \n
- Support recruitment administration and interview scheduling. \n
- Coordinate company events, meetings and team activities. \n
- Manage incoming correspondence and general enquiries. \n
- Assist with reporting, data management and business projects. \n
- Support the wider team with operational and administrative tasks. \n
Skills & ExperienceEssential
\n- \n
- Previous experience in an Office Manager, Bookkeeper or Finance Administrator role. \n
- Strong bookkeeping experience and understanding of accounting principles. \n
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software. \n
- Excellent organisational and time management skills. \n
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail. \n
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills. \n
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. \n
- Professional and confident communication skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping qualification. \n
- Experience within an events, hospitality or service-based business. \n
- Experience supporting HR administration. \n
- Knowledge of VAT and management reporting. \n
- Experience using CRM and business management systems. \n
