Reed Business Support are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing business based in Gateshead for an experienced Office Manager.

\n

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is entering a key phase of growth and development. They are looking for an ambitious, proactive and highly organised individual who can take ownership of office operations, lead a small administration team and support the business as it continues to evolve.

This role requires more than a traditional administrator. The successful candidate will be a confident decision-maker, a strong communicator and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and continuous improvement are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a small administration team
  • \n
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the office
  • \n
  • Manage incoming communications and enquiries efficiently
  • \n
  • Handle HR-related queries and support HR processes
  • \n
  • Work closely with a newly appointed HR Advisor
  • \n
  • Coordinate multiple communication workflows across the business
  • \n
  • Maintain effective diary and schedule management
  • \n
  • Ensure document control procedures are followed accurately
  • \n
  • Support compliance requirements, including ISO standards
  • \n
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • \n
  • Analyse issues and escalate where necessary
  • \n
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • \n

About You

\n

The successful candidate will have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Senior Administrator or similar role
  • \n
  • Experience managing or supervising a small team
  • \n
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • \n
  • Good technical and systems skills, ideally including HR systems
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently and make decisions confidently
  • \n
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • \n
