- Designing and developing innovative electrical systems for a variety of building types. \n
- Conducting site visits to assess existing systems and gather data for project planning. \n
- Collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met. \n
- Preparing detailed technical reports, schematics, and design proposals. \n
- Ensuring all designs comply with UK regulations and industry standards. \n
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. \n

- Electrical Design: Develop electrical layouts for commercial and residential buildings, including power distribution, lighting & lighting control systems, and life safety systems. \n
- Site Surveys: Conduct independent site surveys to assess existing systems, gather technical data, and create detailed reports and schematics with actionable recommendations. \n
- System Design: Design lighting, CCTV, telecoms, and fire alarm systems. \n
- Client Liaison: Confidently present design proposals and reports to clients, explaining technical aspects in clear, non-technical terms. Collaborate with developers, architects, contractors, and designers to ensure project success. \n
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and other team members to ensure timely project delivery while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. \n
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet UK regulations and industry standards, including LET Wiring Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and BSRIA guides. \n
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred). \n
- 3-5+ years of experience in UK building services. \n
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux or Relux, and other relevant design software. \n
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and standards. \n
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical designs and reports to clients and stakeholders. \n
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \n
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. \n
- Effective client-facing communication and presentation skills. \n
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. \n
