Interim Financial Controller (Temp-to-Perm)

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic, multi-entity business on an interim basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. This hands-on role requires a candidate who can add value from day one, bringing strong technical expertise alongside a commercial and process improvement mindset. The position will play a key role in strengthening financial reporting, enhancing insight, and driving improvements across planning and controls.
\nDay-to-day of the role:

Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
\n- \n
- Take ownership of group financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, ensuring accuracy and timeliness under FRS102. \n
- Lead the consolidation of multiple entities, delivering clear and insightful monthly and quarterly reporting packs. \n

Interim Impact / Process Improvement:

- Quickly assess current processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiencies. \n
- Implement improvements across reporting, controls, and workflows to support a scalable finance function. \n
\n - \n
Planning, Budgeting & Analysis:
\n- \n
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with business objectives. \n
- Deliver robust FP&A analysis (variance, trends, scenario modelling) to highlight risks and opportunities. \n
- Partner with stakeholders to provide commercial insight and financial challenge. \n

Modelling & Insights:
\n- \n
- Build and enhance financial models, dashboards, and performance tracking tools. \n
- Provide meaningful insight to drive decision-making and accountability across the business. \n
\n - \n
Controls, Risk & Compliance:
\n- \n
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls frameworks. \n
- Monitor key risk indicators and report findings to senior management. \n
- Support audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements. \n
\n - \n
Cash & Working Capital:
\n- \n
- Manage and improve cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning. \n
- Optimise working capital and drive improvements in cash performance. \n
\n - \n
Systems & Stakeholder Management:
\n- \n
- Review and enhance financial systems and reporting tools, ensuring data integrity. \n
- Work cross-functionally to support key business initiatives and transformation projects. \n
\n
Required Skills & Qualifications:
\n- \n
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified. \n
- Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level, ideally within a multi-entity environment. \n
- Strong background in group reporting, consolidation, and FP&A. \n
- Demonstrable track record of delivering process improvements in an interim or fast-paced setting. \n
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills. \n
- Strong technical knowledge (FRS102, controls, reporting standards). \n
- Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders. \n
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a hands-on, delivery-focused role. \n
