The Role

This Transport Supervisor / Team Leader opportunity is with a well-established transport operation based in Leeds, supporting the day-to-day running of a busy distribution environment.

The business is looking for a hands-on Transport Supervisor / Team Leader who can support the Transport Manager in leading the daily operation, ensuring vehicles depart on time, drivers are well supported and customer service standards remain high.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of daily transport activities while developing your leadership experience within a fast-paced Logistics distribution and supply chain environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day supervision of the transport operation
\n
• Managing driver briefings, debriefs and daily operational queries
\n
• Monitoring vehicle departures, delivery performance and service levels
\n
• Supporting transport planning and responding to live operational issues
\n
• Ensuring compliance with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation
\n
• Working closely with warehouse and wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams to ensure efficient operational delivery
\n
• Monitoring transport KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
\n
• Supporting driver performance, engagement and day-to-day people management
\n

Key experience

\n
• Previous experience within transport operations, transport planning or transport supervision
\n
• Experience leading or supporting operational teams within a transport environment
\n
• Good understanding of transport legislation, drivers' hours and compliance requirements
\n
• Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
\n
• Experience operating within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment
\n
• Confident using transport management systems and Microsoft Office
\n
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for operational excellence
